2012 Spring Immersion Dates:
Part I: Feb 11/12, 25/26
Part II: Mar 10/11, 24,25
Part III: Apr 7/8, 21/22
Cost: $1275 prior to Jan 11th and $1375 after. Only $640 for 2nd (3rd) timers. One part (2 weekends) for $475.
Asana: We will take the time each weekend to break down the principles & learn how they apply to all the classes of poses - standing poses, backbends, inversions & restoratives. We will progress through the Anusara Syllabus of poses, beginning wtih Level I & by Part III of the Immersion explore various Level III poses. With this commitment, your practice will progress to an extraordinary level!
Meditation: In each weekend we will learn & practice different techniques for meditation so you can establish a regular practice. We will talk about the purpose, benefits & the pitfalls, all important in creating a meaningful practice for your life.
Pranayama: Many of the breathing techniques, pranayama, can only be taught when there is enough time before asana practice, so the Immersion allows us to explore them fully to realize the benefits of a fuller relationship with your breath.
Philosophy: Another important aspect of yoga is the underlying philosophy. The Immersion is designed to explore the philosophies of India, including Buddhist, Hindu & Tantric philosophies, so that students have a solid foundation & can begin to independently explore deeper any of the philosophies that resonate with them.
Commitment: The Immersion is taught in 3 parts. Each part is two weekends. Each weekend will include Asana, Philosophy & Pranayama. You may sign up for one part at a time, or for the entire Immersion. To receive credit for the purpose of taking any further Anusara teacher training, all 3 parts must be completed.
